Montreux Jazz restaurant is always good with enough choice / selection and good service. The hotel needs some investment fairly soon as it continues to age. Valet parking ( Andre ) is good but quite expensive at CHF45 daily. The noise from the Jazz Festival at night is quite substantial continuing until 5.00 am on the final Saturday evening even on the third floor.. Will not stay in the hotel again during this period for sure. The biggest issue was that I tried to book the same room for a 10 night stay commencing 31st August at reception. The first person there booked us in for the wrong dates.!! Returned and spoke to another person on reception who told me that the hotel had no availability at that time but that reservations would be contacting me before we checked out. We never heard another word and to say the least found this situation very disappointing for a Fairmont President's Club member. Booking on line is very complicated as if the hotel is perhaps fully booked for one night during your projected stay you can not complete and must allow reservations to attempt to find a solution. Hotels that have to refuse a 10 night stay because they are fully booked for one night during the period when guests are looking for a room are shooting themselves in the foot and will end up losing their GOOD clients very quickly. Our experience described above is a bad reflection on Fairmont's booking policy and basic hotel management and we will end us staying less frequently in the Fairmont group's hotels inevitably.

Just a few things among many: 1. Room service was good, but food was worse than eating in a street cafe 2. toilet was not cleaned, had to call housekeeping to show them so that they clean it. They apologised because even themselves did not believe the toilet was left as dirty as it was. 3.The outside curtains were not working, called reception as soon as I arrived in the room, they said they will check it out, but until next day at 6pm nobody had come. I called again, technician came in, confirmed outside blinds were not working, told me they will put it in their report, but not a word about fixing it. 4. bathroom door was not closing at all (room was one of the "renovated" ones) 5. reception personnel was a bit arrogant and not fast in response. I realise it was the jazz festival on and everybody was busy, but when a guest pays CHF700+ per night, he/she requires to receive a CHF700+ room & service. Which we most definitely did not receive.

„Beautiful“

Service wonderful as usual! Very nice details with choloate, fruits and water. Cleaning was great although we had no more small hand towels after one cleaning. Beakfast nice as always but the omellette cook was a bit stressed and harsh. Shame that the Bar at the Grill is not open longer during the festival.

I travel extensively for the music business, checking in and out of hotels in a different city nearly every day. As always, the Fairmont Montreux Palace helped prepare our check in prior to arrival, so when we arrived after a long trip, our rooms and key packets were ready. This efficiency is much appreciated when arriving with a tired group. Everyone was quickly to their rooms and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I have been coming to this hotel for almost 30 years, and this property continues to be one of my favorite in the world.
